The Ashford Accelerated Charka is well made and has 2 ratios. The higher ratio is ideal for spinning cotton, cashmere, camel down and other short fibers. The lower ratio works well for wool and functions as a "mini" great wheel. The only disadvantage is that the secondary drive band is a rubber band, which has to be replaced fairly often. The spindle is a good size and holds a large amount of spun singles and can also be used as a bobbin winder. Set up is very easy.
This is a great little wheel to travel with!
