These sticks have holes all the way across the length, leading me to believe they are not lease sticks at all, but are, in fact, APRON STICKS or RODS. Ashford may have dual-purposed them, but the holes in the middle of the sticks are not smooth and there are splinters in all the holes, making them not so great for use as lease sticks.
I've only been weaving since 2000, but I'm sure that lease sticks used to come in PAIRS and now there is not even a warning that one is buying a single stick. The description even has the "s" still there - making this unwary shopper buy single sticks and quite unhappy at that! Photos on this site or a more lengthy description would have made me a happy camper and a lot more satisfied with my now-useless purchase.
