This was so much fun to finish and put together, very easy, too. The traditional single drive wheel was my first wheel after learning to spin on a drop spindle. Very beginner friendly, and I find that I can spin and ply a great variety of thicknesses. It does sometimes get difficult to treadle when plying, but that usually is corrected by adjusting the bobbin brake band. I'm not really crazy about the horizontal lazy kate because of the backspinning of the plies which leads to tangling, but sometimes I lay the lazy kate on its edge so the plies come off vertically and that really helps. This is a good wheel for beginner or experienced spinner, travels well, too!

I have been spinning on this wheel for almost a year with great pleasure and great success. I highly recommend it. It is great for beginners, and there are plenty of upgrades available to accommodate your growing skill level. I only gave it 4 stars of 5 because I find that the plastic orifice fittings are a bit flimsy. However, they are cheap and easy to replace. I have had a few problems with the drive band, but I think it's just user error and nothing to do with the wheel. It is a very good wheel and a good price. A great way to get started spinning.
