better than silk? |

This bamboo spins so easily that it's almost a snoozer. While the finished 2-ply yarn has the look and hand of silk, I prefer bamboo for two reasons: first, there is no sloughing or shedding, therefore no waste; and second, the yarn is livelier than silk, so works up with more body. Don't even think about spinning from the fold, as the fibers will bind and you will find yourself in the midst of a huge and unnecessary battle. It's a little pricey but worth every penny.

This fiber is not for the faint of heart or for someone who wants an "easy spin." It takes just a bit of special handling, although I found it to spin beautifully and flow through my fingers without effort. I can hardly wait to use it in an actual project.
