| Crochet pattern from respected crocheter Tiffany Reynolds. Tiffany has
been featured in several magazines including Interweave Crochet.
The roots of Talitha Cumi Company’s
colorful designs really go back some time ago when, as the daughter of
an Alaskan bush pilot, Tiffany’s personal intrigue was sparked around
the fires of the Alaskan Native craftsmen. Whether it was beading
moccasins, carving ivory, piecing fur parkas, or weaving birch bark
baskets, she was mentored by what she considers some of the greatest
artists. A number of years after moving from Alaska and needing to make
sense of life’s scraps and find some personal renewal, she turned back
to the healing power of creativity and color; beginning with a basket
of yarn remnants, she let simple crochet stitches and some new methods
in the ancient art of felting turn into a sacred purpose. Now producing
a line of patterns as well as a limited one of a kind ski hats, bags,
backpacks, purses, and rugs....each created to inspire individuality,
awaken personal adventure, creativity, and encourage local rural
economy by incorporating local craftsmen and piecework.
“World Peace begins with internal peace.”
