Description   Ruffles and Ridges Pattern Knit in a simple ridge pattern, edged with a flirty ruffle, and featuring extra long 'ties', this shawl can be worn in many ways. Instructions given for 2 sizes. This pattern is easily adjusted for other sizes or weights of yarn. Shown in JJ's Montage 8 ply and Naturally Sensation. Sizes:  Instructions are given for the following 2 sizes.  This pattern is easily adjusted for other sizes or other weights of yarn. Small: 17" (43cm) deep and 70" wide at top edge. large: 21" deep and 102" wide at top edge. Yarn Requirements:  450yds of DK or Light Worsted Weight that will knit loosely to gauge given below.  Large shawl is shown in JJ's handpainted Montage 100% Wool 8 ply (DK) Small red shawl is in Sensation (70% wool, 30% Angora)  All yarns from naturally New Zealand. Needles:  US Size 9 circular needle at least 40" long.  Shawl is worked back and forth in rows.  The circular needle is required to accommodate the number of stitches for the ruffle.  You may change to a shorter circular once the stitch count is reduced sufficiently. Guage:  13 sts = 4" To check gauge knit a large swatch in stockinette stitch.  Remove from the needle and stretch in all direction to relax the stitches then lay the sample on a flat surface to measure.   We also recommend Addi Turbo Knitting Needles Add Related Products...
