This popular pattern from Fiber Trends works up beautifully in any easily feltable wool. My favorite is Baabajoe's Woolpak yarn. It takes 2 hanks of 10-ply to make a pair. Brown Sheep Top of the Lamb worsted weight also works well. Another excellent option is Naturally 10 Ply Alpine, 100% New Zealand Wool. You'll need 4 4-oz skeins of 100% wool or wool/mohair for sizes through men's medium, or 5 skeins for a men's large (size 12+). |
