Description   +View Larger Image Item is available. Price: USD$ 5.95 Quantity Fun and a little nutty, this acorn hat can be made plain or bordered with fall leaves. 3 sizes for "kids" of all ages. Design by Evelyn A. Clark Sizes: Sm, Med, and Lg. To fit head size up to 19" (20ﾽ", 22ﾽ"). Elastic may be sewn into band if needed to fit a smaller size. Yarn Requirements: Worsted weight yarn that will knit to a gauge of 5 sts to 1". 3-color hat: 50 (60, 70) yards of color A (band & leaves), 40 (50, 55) yards of color B (body of acorn), and 45 (55, 60) yards of color C (top of acorn). 2-color hat: 80 (90, 100) yards of color B, 45 (55, 60) of color C. Note: We used a double strand of sock weight yarn for the hat with leaves to achieve this gauge, using 2 strands in place of a single strand of worsted and 4 strands in place of double strand worsted. This requires less than one 50 gram skein of each color. Needles: 16" (40 cm) circulars, sizes 8 and 6 (5 & 4 mm) and a set of double pointed needles in size 6 (4 mm). Change needle size as needed to obtain gauge. Gauge: 20 sts = 4" (10 cm) Suggested Naturally Yarns: 10 ply Merino et soie or Haven used double per Note above.   Related Products...
