QUESTIONS and ANSWERS
These knit then felt kits are great.
They comes with all the instructions necessary to knit and then felt a unique pillow. Availiable in three great colorways. Burgundy is a green and pink with burgundy colored pillow, Crabapple is a pinks and reds, and Willow is dark brown and blue. Using louet's Riverstone yarn this project is a joy to kit. We are sure you will have a blast with these new kits.
Each kit comes with 310 grams of Riverstone yarn, a sample of SOAK wool wash and some Euroflax linen for trim.
Here is a bit about the kit from my sister Rachel, she tells me that she is almost ready to felt it.

Well I know what you're thinking... She hasn't finished those
socks
yet and she's starting another project. Ha! You would be wrong I started the felted pillow before I started the
Louet Hand Dyed Sock Kit
. I'm actually about halfway done with the pillow. I just wanted to wait to write about it when I had something to show for my efforts. The first thing I'm going to say is that I have a new favorite yarn. The
Riverstone yarn
is so soft and nice to knit with and it is thick enough that it works up so fast. I have really enjoyed working with it. I can't wait to get to the felting part. Because it is felted you can't carry any yarns behind the work so I had to split some skeins in half. With the green willow color I just used one strand from the center pull ball and the yarn off of the out side of the ball. It seems to be working out well though I have been careful to untangle
things frequently so it doesn't get too out of hand. I haven't done any real intarsia for a long time and I'm really having fun with the color changes. It is easier than it looks so don't be scared to try it if you've never done it before. There are lots of good books and videos... I can't think of one to recommend right now but they are out there...hhmmmmm. I'll have to look around. Well this is what I have done so far. today I'm almost done with the circle. I took this pic yesterday. So like I said it's going quick. I don't have much knitting time either. Usually just an hour or two a day if I'm lucky. Considering I'm taking 20 college credits at school and working four hours a day I think I'm doing pretty well at not forgetting my knitting.

Well, I have been so busy with school and work I haven't had time to post about my
Louet felted pillow kit project
. It is coming along very nicely. I'm working on the upper back piece and I'm almost to the button holes. I will let you know how they go but at first glance they appear to be really straightforward. So far the pattern hasn't been terribly challenging. I think that most people who wanted to start doing some color work would be able to get off to a good start with this pillow. The felting process will help to hide any little oops moments too. I liked the fact that most of the colorwork is in large sections. So you the project doesn't require a great deal of attention while knitting. I knit whenever I watch movies, because I never let any precious time go to waste, I discovered while knitting this pillow that my knitting speeds up dramatically when I'm watching something suspenceful. I was actually really very pleased to discover how much improved my knitting is getting. All my stitches were even and the edges of the color changes were really clean. There is room for me to improve a bit there still but it looks so much better than my color changes used to. I think the thicker yarn helped because it just seemed easier to keep an even tension on it.
