SeaCell is really amazing. It is gorgeous, with a pearlescence and shine that is incredible. It has similar spinning qualities as soy silk or tussah, although it is more akin to soy. It is not pure white, but has a greyish-green cast to it. It's a bit darker than tussah, but a shade lighter than soy and not as yellowish. I can only describe the colour as an antique cream coloured pearl. The sheen is as nice (if not nicer) than even silk.
This fibre is very strong. In fact, I believe it would make for a great blending material for sock yarns, instead of using nylon.
I also used a fiber reactive dye to dye the material in roving form. It took the dye marvelously.
Although it is rather pricey, a little bit goes a long way. I truly believe that this is a fantastic fibre that everyone ought to try.
