A Bit about Trudy from the Louet Company...

An introduction to my background as a spinner and dyer. I have always been fascinated with fibers. Unusual fibers and high quality fibers have sparked my interest. When adding fibers to our product line I have always kept a favorite saying in mind, "If you are going to spend a great deal of time making something, you might as well use the best possible ingredients." I remember when I first learned to spin. I was thrown a piece of very dirty black fleece, full of manure, and sent on my way to learn. I realized later that anybody who survived that course was definitely a real fiber enthusiast. I also realized that not many people would join us if they were given the same entry level training. When I became qualified to teach classes I started washing and dyeing fleece, only selecting the very best parts of each fleece. I have continued my quest for fiber all over the world buying only the BEST possible fibers for you our customers. Generally, our selection process has been to choose high quality fiber that I like spinning. Of course I am not telling you that we only get the highest quality fibers. For example, when choosing a cashmere I could have chosen a higher quality; however, I decided that the brown cashmere which is finer then the white would be as fine as most advanced spinners would want to go. When we choose a fiber we keep the spinners in mind; beginners as well as advanced.
