The Kromski Sonata is back in stock!  This new wheel from Kromski has caused quite a stir in the spinning community and is a terrific folding wheel.  This wheel has a great easy to use design and is perfect for a beginner. You will find Kromski parts are easy to get from us and other dealers even though the wheels are handcrafted in Poland. The upright design makes it a user friendly wheel and I haven't seen a more elegant upright wheel design and now comes standard with carry bag!
 
Features
The carry bag is very nice with heavy duty padding all around.  The base has a padded platform that the folded wheel rides on so no amount of dropping is going to hurt the wheel.  Big outside pocket will hold lots of fiber tools and fiber goodies. This carry bad is complete with Shoulder strap and hand grab strap. and made from durable material.

This a true double treadle Spinning wheel with smooth action and solid construction. While it does fold up for easy portability the Sonata is a well conceived, designed, and manufactured spinning wheel.  Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro, the Sonata is a good choice regardless of your hand spinning ability and is an easy to use portable spinning wheel at a great price from the Kromski Family.

    The Sonata comes with a standard flyer and three bobbins along with a two spindle built in lazy Kate.  The design is straight forward and practical.  In addition a jumbo flyer and bobbins are available for plying and spinning novelty yarns.  The change over from standard to jumbo takes only seconds.  Kromski has done a great job of creating a first class wheel with the features most people wouldn't expect in a portable wheel.

Architecture: As with other Kromski wheels, lots of turns and interesting wood features. As much as any folding wheel can have "old time" looks, the Sonata has it.

  • Sits very firmly on the floor; has cushioned feet.

  • Orifice height: 25" but adjustable so that it can be several inches higher.

  • The front and rear maidens use a "plastic" bearing for the flyer head.

First wheel for self-taught spinner May 2, 2009

I really love my spinning wheel. It's great to be able to put it away so my toddler doesn't destroy it, and it's smooth and easy to use. In fact, it is SO easy to use I taught myself to spin on it having only spun on a drop spindle, and watching YouTube videos. The customer service is amazing too. Paradise fibers is my favorite place to shop.

This is my first spinning wheel, and it has exceeded all of my expectations. Within 20 minutes I was spinning on it easily. It is lovely, quiet, and a fantastic blend of old and new technology.  The only slight reserve I have is with the claim that it could be carried on a plane. The bag appears to me too wide, but I could be mistaken. Regardless of that, I would highly recommend this wheel to anyone.

This wheel is a fantastic value. It is easy to fold up unlike some folding double treadles out there. You don't have to disassemble the treadle connections to fold the wheel. It is really easy to spin on. This wheel has a true double treadle mechanism which makes it easier to keep going in the right direction for beginning spinners. I love the lazy kate attachment as well. The use of scotch tension makes it easy to adjust the wheel tension too. This is a great wheel that is a lovely as it is functional. Versatile, smooth, and lovely to look at! November 20, 2007

I bought this wheel as a companion to my Symphony, and love it much more than I expected to. In fact, I find that I use it all the time as it is so easy to move around and take with me. It is easy to adjust and use, and very easy to fold up to travel with. Once both additional flyers are available it will offer lots of versatility too!
