Description   MULTICOLOR SARI SILK BLENDING FIBER This fiber is Sari Silk Pulled Waste from India and is ready to card or spin into yarn. This Sari Silk product is the best for blending with minimal handling. Our regular Sari Silk requires some cutting before blending as most of you know. This Sari Silk is sometimes referred to as "waste" sari silk blending fiber. NOTE: This Sari Silk is preferred to standard sari silk as you don't have to cut it with scissors BUT is can contain some dust. We shake the dust out of each bundle before blending here at the shop and it's not an issue generally and much easier than cutting raw sari silk.   Related Products... Gorgeous colours and great texture August 20, 2008 Reviewer: Alissa from Vancouver, BC Canada   This is great fiber! I spun up a small quantity straight from the bag, and loved the amazing texture and blend of colours that resulted. I started knitting it up and once again, loved the way the colours just flow! I haven't tried carding it yet, despite the slightly felted appearance of the fluff, it drafts pretty well, as long as you're not looking for perfectly smooth texture (I wasn't.) There is some minor debris in the fiber, little tiny twigs, and the occasional thread that looks like cotton, as well as some fine threads that look like metallic wire. I didn't find these things to be overwhelming or in high quantity, nor did they diminish the fun I had with this fiber. I'm glad I got a full pound, I imagine I'll end up getting another before too long! Was this review helpful to you?
