Description   The Beka Swift is awesome! We love it and use it frequently here in the shop. The swift has a sturdy construction and is made of Natural Hard Maple. It has metal bearings that make the yarn winding process ultra smooth. The amount of different sized yarn skeins that this swift will accommodate is pleasantly surprising. We use it with many different yarn types including boucle and novelty yarns and haven't been let down yet.  It does not need clamps and it's super easy to assemble, no tools necessary. It weighs a modest 3 lbs.  Here is a photo of the swift broken down. Everything  breaks down to straight  "sticks" except the base which is a  x shaped piece. This piece could be placed on its edge along the side of a bag for transport. The top loading feature makes this swift unique and special.  One person can easily load and align the strands to facilitate easy, tangle free winding.  The ball bearings that support the platform on the Beka Yarn Swift make for smooth and trouble free operation.  I have wound many balls of yarn here at Paradise Fibers and the Beka Yarn Swift works great. My first yarn swift... June 27, 2009 Reviewer: cassandra sutherland from brooklyn, NY United States   This is my first yarn swift, I seen a demonstration of it on youtube. I like what I seen, I received it this morning. It was is to put together, the only problem is that one of the dowels do not fit securely, I had to use scotch tape to hold it in place and that didn't work. It did do it job. I was able wind up my 15 hanks in to balls. I think I will buy another yarn swift. I'm very happy with the fast delivery from paradise fibers. I will order again. *Thanks for the review, we appreciate them good or bad.  While the Beka isn't perfect, it is pretty darn good and we recommend that you put the dowel tips in some water and they will swell and fit more snugly and should be fine.  Sometimes climate can goof up wood products.  Call the shop any time you have a problem with a product that we sell 888-320-7746 Was this review helpful to you?

swift swifter December 9, 2008 Reviewer:  Rachel from , Spokane,wa   I actually bought the Shop's resident Beka and i love it.It works great and fits almost any size skein i want to put on it.It spins smooth and easy.I would recommend it to anyone using a ball winder.It's a lot easier than using your knees or the back of a chair.The other nice feature is that it stands by itself so you dont have to find a table with an edge on it to clamp it to.It's good to go Was this review helpful to you?
