Description   This high quality 100% USA wool fiber is wonderful to spin or blend with bamboo or your other favorite fiber. This fiber has been minimally processed without the use of harsh chemicals so it has terrific springy bounce much like Targhee wool. You'll also find a little vegetation in this fiber as it's so gently processed. This wool will also felt really well for the needle felters out there. It's not combed and is only carded so it's not quite as smooth to spin as our other fibers but is certainly enjoyable to spin.   Features Mountain Meadow Wool is dedicated to the preservation of the open spaces of the West. One of the best ways to preserve open space is to preserve a ranch, therefore 10% of every purchase will go directly to the rancher who produced this fine wool. Thank you for your purchase! Fibers for our roving and yarn are washed and spun with citrus/vegetable-based soaps and oils rather than petroleum-based products. No chemicals are used to bleach, shrinkproof or mothproof the yarn. Delicious! October 2, 2009 Reviewer: Taryn W. from Spokane, WA United States   This fiber is a dream to spin - I am still a relatively new spinner and found this very smooth to draft even though it isn't combed. The bits of veg are really minimal, and generally fall out in the spinning or can be pulled out easily. This is the fluffiest, lightest prep I have spun yet, like clouds, or the wool that runs through my hands in dreams... Highly recommended! ETA: My current project is a 2 ply fingering that I dyed with acid dyes. The dye takes to this fiber very well, but I must admit that when spinning this fine the neps become troublesome, where they didn't seem to be an issue when spinning a thicker yarn. For this reason I've taken my review to 3 stars, and I will probably be spinning heavier weights with this fiber in the future. Still a great domestic wool for the price!
