Small, lightweight (approximately 3/8 oz. to ¾ oz.) with an ability to spin medium to very fine fibers. Rim weighted for a long spin time. Long shaft on which to spin lots of fiber! Made of poplar balsam with a walnut shaft.

Shasta is the 2nd highest of the Cascade volcanoes and one of the world's most  impressive stratovolcanoes containing 5 glaciers and4 distinct cones. According to legend (1891), a Spanish explorer reported  that while climbing Mt. Diablo near San Francisco, he saw Mt. Shasta. He called it "Jesus & Maria" because of the double peaks.  Mt. Shasta was constructed during a period of more than 100,00 years. Its only known historic eruption was in 1786.
