The points are pointy but not sharp and won't prick your fingers. Once you try these double point knitting needles you will need to buy a couple more pairs because they are so handy to have around.

My hands are always cold when I’m knitting but these needles have a nice warm feel and they get warmer as I knit with them. The tips are perfect for socks. Not sharp but with enough point that you can easily get your stitch. The wood also holds the stitches ever so slightly which helps if you travel with your projects and have a tendency to lose stitches while it is packed away. I can throw my socks in my backpack and when I pull the project out later every stitch is where I left it. The sox stix work great with the austermann sock yarn. stitches slide right along as I’m knitting though. They come in sets of five in an adorable little pouch. You can choose from Rosewood, Ebony, and Blonde wood. All of the woods work equally well. If you haven’t tried these little needles you really should. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
