Great value

While this yarn is decently priced for the amount you get, I'm a little disappointed to find several knots on the cone. There's nothing worse than trying to noddy up a 400 yard skein to dye for a pair of socks, and finding a knot about 100 yards into winding it. Other than that this is an excellent price for the amount of product you get.

super washable yarn!

I love this yarn! I have used a whole cone so far and it is easy to dye, easy to knit with and makes super socks! I have had most of my first cone made into legs for Socks for Soldiers. When the sock is completed, I dye them black and send them on to the organization to be shipped to soldiers.

Great Yarn for Socks!!
October 12, 2007
Reviewer: Carolyn Hillis from BRUNSWICK, GA United States
I bought a cone of this yarn for dyeing and knitting my own socks. I love how well the yarn takes the colors and the sheen of the yarn. I knit my first pair on size US 2 needles and found the fabric to be a little too loose. For the second pair, I used size US 1 needles and the drape was perfect!! This yarn is very comfortable to wear and soft on the feet. It blooms beautifully after washing. I have put my socks in both washer and dryer and they laundered very well.

Great sock yarn

I've dyed 8 400-yard skeins with my cone and have tons left over. I prefer to knit with nylon-blend sock yarns because they last so much longer. The only thing that I would change about this yarn is to give it a tighter twist. Takes dye well.

Super Sock Yarn!

I really love this for socks! I knit socks for soldiers with this undyed yarn, and after the socks are knit, they are dyed black and sent to American service men/women. For more info go to groups.yahoo.com/group/SOCKFORSOLDIERS
This yarn is the perfect weight for socks with size 0 or 1 needles. The superwash is great, making your socks or other item machine wash and dry with little shrinkage. The nylon makes it long wearing, and it takes dye very nicely. You can make your own self patterning sock yarn! I found that the 3 1/2 pound cone is very economical for a good quality yarn, and it has very few splices in the yarn, which is important for making socks. I'm so happy I found this yarn!
