Description   This beautiful Targhee wool is available in two different preparations. The Mountain Top is Combed top in typical Roving form which is perfect for spinning. Or we offer the X-Large Raw style Roving which is about 4 inches wide with some vegetation present as it hasn't been combed, somewhat like a "batt" form. Sweet Grass Wool offers a premium Combed Top from Targhee Sheep raised in the Montana-Wyoming area. Combed Top has been through a French comb which combs the fibers, leaving them parallel. This makes a worsted spun yarn-the strongest yarn. Our combed top has been through a thorough scouring process, leaving the natural bright, white wool as clean as possible. The Wool is approximately 60ct. When compared to our 64ct Merino Top the carded style is about the same softness but has incredible spring! Wonderful Worsted March 23, 2008 Reviewer: Ann Pierce from Woodbury, TN United States   Ah, combed Targhee, where have you been all my life? This, in my book, spins into the ultimate sweater yarn. Targhee wool December 29, 2007 Reviewer: Marcia Wine from Onalaska, WI United States   This beautiful  Targhee wool  took me back to the Targhee sheep I raised 20+ years ago.  It has the same, soft, lustrous sheen but is easier to spin than mine was because my animals had a penchant for finding burdock.  Thank you for providing this great product.
