So far, so good. winds yarn beautifully. It's able to hold a good amount of yarn without it getting caught underneath the disc thing.

Ball Winder-Yarn Winder New Wool |

I have wound two balls of yarn, so far, on the Ball Winder. It performed well. I cut about 1"-1 1/4" off of the top of a toilet paper core. It was split down the long side, placed on the spindle for sizing, & taped to fit the spindle. The core was taken off & taped in the inside for a stronger core. The retaped core was then placed back on the spindle & the winding began. Using a toilet paper core keeps the ball of yarn from collapsing on itself when it get smaller. This hint works great!
