I just can't get by without this ball winder. We use this here at the shop all the time and it works great. My personal winder has lasted through many windings not to mention a few run ins with our Anatolian Shepherd. This winder is super convenient just clamp it to the table and you are ready to wind. It makes a nice centerpull ball that does not roll around the floor while you knit. If your hubby is getting tired of holding your skeins while you wind you can check out our swifts as well. They all work well but here at the shop we have been very impressed with the Beka Swift. ball winder February 6, 2008 Reviewer: Juaquetta Holcomb from Newman Lake, ID United States   These are great for dividing a skein in half, when you need to put a hank of yarn into a skein.  Then if you want to knit with the yarn double from that one skein, just use the edge and center pull, having your yarn double as you knit along. Love It. November 10, 2007 Reviewer: Donna B from Alabama, United States   I don't know what I ever did without my ball winder, especially for lace weight hanks.  It also makes the job of separating one ball into two much easier.  Just put the ball end on a digital scale and wind away...
