"They spin like little tornados!"
Kary Miksis on the Spindlers Group at Yahoo!

Jonathan hand turns these spindles in a variety of native and exotic hardwoods. Sheila's favorites include bubinga, canarywood, red cedar, tulipwood, and purpleheart (of course) — and we have many more to choose from! We also offer spindle whorls turned from such rare and exotic woods as rosewoods, black and white ebony, black palm or Karelian birch, in limited production. Our selection varies as woods are available to us, which means not all woods are in stock at all times. Let us know if you are looking for a particular wood — we'll add you to our Spindle Wish List.

Bosworth Mini Spindle Review April 27, 2007
Reviewer: Phyllis Rostykus from Longmont, CO United States
I use my mini while traveling, and it's the perfect traveling spinner.  I love to do sock-weight yarns, and the weight on it is exactly right for doing a finer yarn.  I can even do a very nice, tight, Navajo-plied three ply sock yarn using a superwash merino using this spindle.  The rim-weighting makes it a very steady spinner that seems to spin forever once you get enough leader length going.  The hook was perfectly centered, and the unfinished shaft was very easy to spin with.  I loved the colors on my paduak (sp?) whorl, the red is very, very visible.  I highly recommend these for the price.
